The Wheel of Life

I used this tool as an illustration of one way in which you can get to know your mentee at the start of a relationship. However, it can also be used to find out more about issues that may be affecting the mentee, and to help them focus on issues. It can be very powerful.
Essentially, the wheel is divided into segments that reflect important areas of your mentee’s life. You can ask the mentee to choose what labels to put on the segments, and ask them to score each segment out of 10 and draw a line as on the example below.

The example above is a generic one that you can show your mentee, but it will be interesting to see what labels they choose to include and exclude.

Blank wheel of life templates are included here for you to fill in your own, using headings of your choice.
