Why train in North Devon?

Coast path2North Devon beaches are a big attraction and include Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton Sands. You may even be able to get to the beach for an evening surf, paddle board or kite surf! The North Devon Coast Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty make the landscape of North Devon spectacular.

There is an abundance of wildlife on Exmoor National Park  where you can enjoy outdoor pursuits like cycling, horse riding and walking.

Surprisingly for such a beautiful place, North Devon has areas with affordable housing which makes it very attractive for first-time buyers wanting to get onto the property ladder.

Barnstaple  is the attractive and vibrant town centre with bars, restaurants, the Queen’s Theatre, the Pannier market and high street and independent shops. The hospital in Barnstable is small and friendly and there are lots of opportunities to have a portfolio career.

Torridge2Arts, theatre and live music can be enjoyed at the Queen's Theatre in Barnstaple, the Landmark Theatre at Ilfracombe and the Plough Arts Centre in Torrington. There are cool outdoor festivals in the summer including Birdman, GoldCoast Oceanfest and Exmoor’s Samphire.

Tiverton Parkway railway station is around 45 minutes’ drive from Barnstaple and has excellent national rail services (two hours to London Paddington and direct services to Bristol, Birmingham and the North East).
